Dr. Denise DuPree, DOA, presented at the second International Alzheimer's Disease; Dementia Conference in Rome in June 2023. Her presentation titled Aging in Place with Dementia: Strategies for Successfully Aging in Place was well received. The presentation included details about a caregiver's role and self-care ideas for anyone who assists people living with dementia. She also discussed the rise of dementia worldwide and the desire of many seniors to age in place in their homes. Denise shared information regarding the types of care and safety precautions that need to be implemented when aging in place. As part of the conference, there were also presentations on the science behind finding treatments and a possible cure for dementia. Attendees were left with a positive outlook, knowing that many dedicated doctors and scientists are diligently working on treatments and finding a potential cure, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.
