Homewatch CareGivers (HWCG) is proud to announce Ola Afolabi has been selected “Caregiver of the Month.
Caregiving is challenging and difficult work. They put a lot of skill and compassion into their work so elderly and sick clients stay healthy and happy. But … that doesn’t stop Ola from giving her best, day after day, to help our clients maintain the best quality of life.
Ola assist our clients with their daily routines, activities, and needs. This may include food preparation, buying groceries, ordering medication, and ensuring patients take their medications on time, in the right way. She also plays a crucial role in the communication between the client’s doctor and family regarding the client’s health status and needs. While these responsibilities only skim the surface of what Ola does on a daily basis, her duties has a significant and direct impact on the day-to-day experience of our clients.
Even under challenging times, Ola shines bright and demonstrates a sense of responsibility by going above and beyond. Most recently, Ola helped a young patient with her virtual learning studies while schools were closed due to the pandemic. Adding “teacher/mentor” to her list of duties is something Ola accomplished with a sense of pride and a smile.
Another example of Ola’s exemplary care is when she was caring for an end-of-life patient. Ola would sing to the client while she was bathing her because it made the client relax and unwind. The simple pleasures in life. Details that Ola picks up on and is willing to do in order to bring peace into the souls of the people she cares for.
Reliability and consistency are two key characteristics that is important in a caregiver. Ola aces these characteristics and has maintained longevity with her clients for years at a time. Every client she cares for adores her and considers her part of their family.
We salute Ola for her outstanding work and dedication towards our clients and their families.
