Homewatch CareGivers of New Haven will host a pair of free walk-in COVID vaccination clinics starting this week. Working with Griffin Health and the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), Homewatch CareGivers CEO Matthew Peterson announces the first walk-in clinic has been arranged for Friday, August 20. The clinics will take place in the Homewatch office at 151 East Street, Suite 101, New Haven, and will run from 1-4 pm.
First doses of Pfizer and J&J vaccines will be administered. The second dose will be administered on September 10, at the same location, also from 1-4 pm. All are invited to attend the clinic. Health insurance cards and photo IDs are requested, but not required. No one will be turned away for lack of either, and there is no charge for the vaccine. All participants will get a free $20 Stop and Shop gift card!
Connecticut’s COVID-19 Vaccination Van will be parked right outside the building where the clinic will be held. The highly visible yellow vans, provided by the DPH and run by Griffin Health, can administer 100 to 125 shots per day in a six-hour window. The shots are available to all, without an appointment.
The Department of Public Health points out that choosing to get vaccinated is an additional powerful tool in the fight against the COVID-19 virus. The vaccine will protect those who receive it from becoming seriously ill from COVID-19. It will protect their family and friends from becoming seriously ill from COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Vaccination Vans are part of the State of Connecticut’s effort to vaccinate as many residents as possible. For more information on vaccinations and COVID-19 visit https://portal.ct.gov/Vaccine-Portal
