Like many of our neighbors, we at Homewatch CareGivers of New Haven are doing whatever we can to fulfill the promise that we are all in this together. Besides checking in with hospitals and rehabilitation centers to see if they need more staffers from us, “whenever we can we are packing up sweets and treats as a way to say thanks to those working the front lines against Covid-19,” says owner Matthew Peterson.

“A lot of people are really excited about helping,” said Peterson. “It helps out the caregivers and maybe it can also help these bakeries get through the next few weeks and pay rent.” Who’s paying for all these goodies? Donors, says Peterson. Homewatch CareGivers of New Haven is leading Food for the Front Lines in New Haven County to deliver free meals and treats to health care facilities, fire and police stations, and others. “ It feels like such a small thing to do when I think what other people are faced with right now,” he said.
