As National Public Health Week 2020 approaches, here are some ways you can participate and celebrate April 6-12th while respecting social distancing due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
First, get more social! ...on social media, that is. Post your messages out to as many of your friends and encourage them to do the same to spread individual messages out to as many people as possible.
Second, find movement opportunities in your own homes. Starting on Jan. 1 of this year, the Billion Steps Challenge has undergone several successful months and doesn't have to stop now! You too can tally up those steps moving around your own home. Look for different ideas on how to do so by discovering various YouTube videos on physical activities that can be converted into steps using the Walker Tracker app. The Challenge may end April 12, but you don't need to stop there, join the movement today and don’t let the unique and precarious circumstances we are all facing stop you.
Lastly, focus on health at home by sharing reputable resources on COVID-19 prevention with those around you.
This National Public Health Week, let us all further public health by working together and encouraging others to stop the spread of the virus and staying healthy during these times.
