Ashley is the Client Care Coordinator at Homewatch CareGivers (HWCG) of Crystal Lake. In this position, Ashely is responsible for managing office staff, directing client care experiences, and guiding potential and current clients through the process of finding the right level of in-home care for them. Before moving into the caregiving field professionally, Ashley worked as a CNA in a variety of environments from the med-surg units of hospitals to elder care and rehabilitation facilities. Since working as the Client Care Coordinator, Ashely has fallen in love with her ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Ashley’s passion for her work is motivated by her desire to make a difference in the lives of others and has also been impacted by her mother who is a nurse working with Elders. Ashley reflected on the times when she was a young child that would ask to join her mother at work in the nursing home so she could hang out with the residents. As Ashley grew, she built on this passion by becoming a CNA, working toward her BSN, and in her work at HWCG. She specifically remembers her experience working with “Thomas” as a caregiver at HWCG. Thomas had dementia and often didn’t remember Ashley when she came to work with him. However, instead of being defensive or guarded Ashley knew Thomas as an incredibly loving and genuine person who was a delight to work with. His kindness made an impression on Ashley and causes her to be inspired to approach life with a similar demeanor even amid difficult circumstances.
When Ashley is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her son (8) and daughter (11) as well as with her husky and bunny. She is enjoys playing volleyball with her daughter and teaching her son to play basketball. In addition to spending time with her family, Ashley is pursuing an Associate’s degree and hopes to one day earn her BSN.
