The Magic of Quality Care

In this video, G. Allen Power, MD, shares how he has seen the impact of caregiving on people who need extra assistance to live a full life after an illness or injury has moderated their abilities.

“I see people who were thought to be unable to engage, unable to do certain things, or think certain things, all of a sudden regain those abilities,” Dr. Power says. Dr. Power, a former geriatrician, is the author of “Dementia Beyond Drugs” and “Dementia Beyond Disease.”

He goes on to explain here how people can have their abilities “turned off” and how the care environment can make a difference for them.
