Homewatch CareGivers University
Homewatch CareGivers University is an online professionally developed learning management system designed to train, inform, and support employees, as well as family members of clients. Access is available to partnering healthcare providers to enroll in accredited courses to assist in keeping their credentials current. Learners have access to specialized training such as dementia care, behavioral health, caring for those living with chronic conditions, and instruction on caring for those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, just to name a few categories.
Our national brand standard of ongoing education is that employees providing caregiving services receive a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education annually. Our goal is to have this online learning opportunity empower caregivers to grow professionally as well as personally! Courses are not only home care related but also include a series that focuses on employee wellness, including managing a budget, balancing a check book, eating right, time management and much more.
If there are concerns about safety precautions when hiring a professional in-home caregiver, rest assured that Homewatch CareGivers University has this covered with courses such as “Infection Control in the Home,” “Basic Cleaning in the Home,” and “Orientation for Home-Based Services: Safety and Compliance,” to name a few.
We provide, support, and encourage training outside of our university platform as well. Sometimes training involves in-person learning to safely operate assistive devices, such as a mechanical lift or use of oxygen, as well as learning directly from industry experts – healthcare providers and various organization or associations, such as the Alzheimer’s Association.
